Outstanding GCSE Results from

Queen Elizabeth’s School Students!!

Queen Elizabeth’s School is delighted to report an outstanding achievement by its Year 11 students who achieved a highly impressive set of results in their GCSE examinations.  There were outstanding performances across the whole range of subjects with so many students performing exceptionally well resulting in a 10% increase on grades compared to last year. Almost 80% of all students gained a good pass in English and Mathematics. Students achieved extremely well across the board with further outstanding success in Triple Science, Further Mathematics, the Arts, ICT, Modern Languages, RE, Dance and PE. These results maintain the impressive trend of continuous improvement over successive years. However, most importantly is the thoroughly well-deserved achievement for all of the hardworking students. They have not only met the challenge of new examinations but have done it in a year when the sporting, artistic, musical, scientific, linguistic and dramatic extra-curricular activities of the school were at their height and in a year when the school had two inspections! The OFSTED inspection judged the school to be”Good”, and the SIAMS Inspection of Church Schools judged the school to be “Outstanding”.

The school recognises achievement at all levels and behind these figures lie countless individual student success stories but some examples of those achieving the highest grades are:

Emma Graham           9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 A^

Amelie Tulodziecki      9 9 9 9 9 9 8 8 7 7

Megan Cooper            9 9 9 9 9 9 8 8 8 7 B

Sophie Jamieson         9 9 9 9 9 8 8 8 8 A* A*

Henry Day                   9 9 9 9 8 8 8 7 7 6 A

Headteacher Martin McLeman is not surprisingly delighted by the pupils’ efforts:

“Our students continue to demonstrate their hard work and commitment - they thoroughly deserve their success. I would also like to thank all the teaching and support staff for their dedication in achieving these excellent results and we should also recognise the support and guidance of the students’ families. I am even happier that our GCSE success follows our equally impressive A level results earlier in the month.”
