Year 9

This year’s group of players have been outstanding in their commitment to prac ce and perform at the highest level. We have been able to  eld 2 teams in the most recent Poole and East Dorset School knock - out compe  on and are looking forward to the A team compe ng in the quarter  nals a er half term.

However this is only half the story. Back in September the A team embarked on a journey that has taken them to round 4 in the Na onal Cup.

The  rst round game saw them play local opposi on winning 3-0. Goals by Owen Wilkinson, Miles Wilcox and George Ashby saw them through to the next round where they faced Thomas Hardy School. A single goal decided the game in our favor. The team played excep onally well against tough opponents scoring in the second half. A great e ort from Miles Wilcox.

Round 3 saw us at home against a team from Yeovil. Again the team produced worthy performances that saw a pleasing 3-0 win, goals from Oli Roberts, Owen Wilkinson and Luke Kelly.

Round 4 saw our  rst and only defeat of the season. A narrow 1-0, the teams only defeat this year in all compe  ons and their end of the road in the Na onal Cup.

Our County Cup campaign began back in November with a very assured win against local opposi on, the  nal score was 6-0. Goals were scored by Owen Wilcox, Luke Kelly (3) Miles Wilcox and the captain Stan Tu .

Round 2 was played over in Christchurch just before Christmas and saw another assured performance from the whole team. The score was 3-0 in our favour. Goals by Miles Wilcox (2) and Owen Wilcox, our sharpshooters up front.

Round 3 of the county cup saw us play against tougher opposi on in Poole Grammar school. For only the second  me we conceded, trailing 0-1 at half term. The team rallied in the second half, showing their true character and resolve to seal the  e 2-1. A relief for the team with goals from Oli Wilson and Sam Tu .

We now look forward to playing Bournemouth School in the semi-  nals a er the half term break. Congratula ons to all the boys who played a part in these 7 games.

Played 7, won 6, drawn 0, lost 1, goals for 18 , goals against 2
