Message from Martin McLeman - Mrs Susan Sinfield, Teacher of English

Dear Parents and Friends

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the death of Mrs Susan Sinfield, Teacher of English.
I know that this will come as a great shock to many as Susan’s battle against cancer appeared to be going in the right direction and we were expecting to see her back at work in September. Susan passed away peacefully last Wednesday. There is no doubt that this is a devastating time for her husband, family, friends and colleagues. At this time it is so important that the ideals of the QE Family are at their strongest and through your prayers, practical support and understanding we will be able to support students and colleagues and help them to come to terms with this loss.
Susan’s contribution to QE will never be forgotten but more importantly her humanity will never be forgotten. Many colleagues have already expressed their dismay that this disease seems to target the loveliest people. Susan was no exception. One of the loveliest people anyone could wish to meet.
Please remember her family in your prayers.
The funeral will take place on Thursday 10th September and as a mark of respect and to enable colleagues to attend the funeral the school will be closed to all students.
The Year 10 Expectations Evening will still go ahead as planned.
