“Design's fundamental role is problem solver”— Fast Company, 2005

GCSE Design and Technology: Graphic Products enables students to design and make products with creativity and originality, using a range of graphic and modelling materials.

Students will be enthused and challenged by the range of practical activities possible. They will be encouraged to learn to use, understand and apply colour and design through images, to develop spatial concepts, and to understand graphic materials and their manipulation. They will design and make product(s) using graphic media and new technologies to prepare them for the world of work.

AQA A Level - Art & Design – Graphic Communication

Art & Design, Graphic Communication is a practical course that allows students to be as creative as their ideas and imagination will take them. It is designed to encourage interest and enjoyment in the study of art and design. Students are encouraged to develop personal responses to ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures whilst working from their own strengths and interests within the remit of the AQA specification.

During the A Level course you will find out about a range of different media, techniques and processes whilst producing a design portfolio that showcases their full range of ability.

Progression

Many students go on to take higher education in art and design, then aim to join the world of advertising as graphic designers, illustrators, typographers or become painters, sculptors, textile designers, fashion designers, photographers to name just a few.
